Morgan County 4-H defeats Buffalo County 4-H
Shooting their highest score of the season Morgan County 4-H defeated Buffalo County 4-H 1815.5 to 1725.1 last week in the National BB Gun League. Their third win in a row, Morgan County 4-H is in second place in their Division with a 3 - 1 record. Morgan County 4-H was led by Hunter Kiepper who shot a 378.8. The remaining contributing members were Natalie Ross, Trey Evans, Zach Wood, and Drew Biersmith. Morgan County 4-H is from Madison, GA, and is coached by Randy Ross.
Buffalo County 4-H dropped to 0 - 3 on the season. They are currently in seventh place in their Division. Shooting their highest team score of the season Buffalo County 4-H was led by Zach Olson who shot a 364.4. The remaining contributing members were Bryana Royle, Luke Olson, Carlee Mashek, and Dane Taylor. Buffalo County 4-H is from Kearney, NE, and is coached by Kevin Taylor.
Next up Morgan County 4-H will compete against Roaring Rifles from Germantown, MD. Roaring Rifles currently has a 1 - 1 record. Buffalo County 4-H will compete against Candler County 4-H from Metter, GA. Candler County 4-H currently has a 0 - 4 record.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is scored with tenth of a ring accuracy and worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
