Roaring Rifles Defeats Candler County 4-H
In an undisputed contest, shooting their highest score this season, 1899.3 points, Roaring Rifles defeated Candler County 4-H. Roaring Rifles finishes the season in third place in their Division with a 5 - 2 record. Roaring Rifles was led by Asiya Abdullah who shot a 384.9. The remaining contributing members were Adam Reinsch, Emily Shioutakon, Aj Cavanaugh, and Michael Gruber. Roaring Rifles is from Germantown, MD, and is coached by Ed Compton.
Candler County 4-H dropped to 0 - 7 on the season. They finish the season in eighth place in their Division. Candler County 4-H is from Metter, GA, and is coached by Angie Daultry.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is scored with tenth of a ring accuracy and worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
