Buffalo County 4-H Defeats Candler County 4-H
In an undisputed contest, shooting their highest score this season, 1784.3 points, Buffalo County 4-H defeated Candler County 4-H. With the win, Buffalo County 4-H is in sixth place in their Division with a 1 - 3 record. Buffalo County 4-H was led by Zach Olson who shot a 375.9. The remaining contributing members were Luke Olson, Evan Kinneson, Bryana Royle, and Britney Royle. Buffalo County 4-H is from Kearney, NE, and is coached by Kevin Taylor.
Candler County 4-H dropped to 0 - 5 on the season. They are currently in eighth place in their Division. Candler County 4-H is from Metter, GA, and is coached by Angie Daultry.
Next up Buffalo County 4-H will compete against NorthWest Shooters from Cypress, TX. NorthWest Shooters currently has a 1 - 3 record. Candler County 4-H will compete against Gwinnett Shooting Sports from Sugar Hill, GA. Gwinnett Shooting Sports currently has a 5 - 0 record.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is scored with tenth of a ring accuracy and worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
