Gwinnett Shooting Sports defeats Morgan County 4-H
Gwinnett Shooting Sports defeated Morgan County 4-H 1859.9 to 1804.6 last week in the National BB Gun League. With the win, Gwinnett Shooting Sports is in second place in their Division with a 1 - 0 record. Gwinnett Shooting Sports was led by Chase Trammell who shot a 394.6. The remaining contributing members were Matt Herrington, Bailey Wagner, Jayce Wiggs, and Sebestian Kuehl. Gwinnett Shooting Sports is from Sugar Hill, GA, and is coached by Robert Herrington.
Morgan County 4-H dropped to 0 - 1 on the season. They are currently in fifth place in their Division. Morgan County 4-H was led by Hunter Kiepper who shot a 381.1. The remaining contributing members were Drew Biersmith, Harrision Buck, Zach Wood, and Natalie Ross. Morgan County 4-H is from Madison, GA, and is coached by Randy Ross.
Next up Gwinnett Shooting Sports will compete against Roaring Rifles from Germantown, MD. Roaring Rifles currently has a 1 - 0 record. Morgan County 4-H will compete against NorthWest Shooters from Cypress, TX. NorthWest Shooters currently has a 1 - 0 record.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is scored with tenth of a ring accuracy and worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
