Washington County 4-H defeats Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers
Washington County 4-H defeated Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers 1778 to 1732 last week in the National BB Gun League. Their second win in a row, Washington County 4-H is in first place in their Division with a 2 - 0 record. Washington County 4-H was led by Macy Hannah who shot a 371. The remaining contributing members were Kale Skogen, Kaleb Barenberg, Bryson Sams, and Nathaniel Hutchens. Washington County 4-H is from Lincoln, AR, and is coached by Joanie Hannah.
Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers dropped to 1 - 1 on the season. They are currently in third place in their Division. Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers was led by Rachel McCollum who shot a 363. The remaining contributing members were Noah Contreras, Cameron Bryson, Evan Duffy, and John Ames. Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers is from Harrisburg, PA, and is coached by Burt Stockton.
Next up Washington County 4-H will compete against Western Nebraska Shooting Sports from Mitchell, NE. Western Nebraska Shooting Sports currently has a 2 - 0 record. Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers will compete against Midland Young Guns from Midland, TX. Midland Young Guns currently has a 0 - 2 record.
These two teams are competing in the Elite Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
