Gwinnett County 4-H defeats Hall County 4-H
Shooting their highest score of the season Gwinnett County 4-H defeated Hall County 4-H 1804 to 1726 last week in the National BB Gun League. With the win, Gwinnett County 4-H is in sixth place in their Division with a 2 - 3 record. Gwinnett County 4-H was led by Matthew Herrington who shot a 374. The remaining contributing members were Chase Trammell, Alec Borneman, Chylie Dzihic, and Bailey Wagner. Gwinnett County 4-H is from Sugar Hill, GA, and is coached by Robert Herrington.
Hall County 4-H dropped to 0 - 5 on the season. They are currently in eighth place in their Division. Hall County 4-H was led by Haley Freeman who shot a 376. The remaining contributing members were Mack Norris, Camilla Griffin, Mason Eddy, and Fox Browning. Hall County 4-H is from Gainsville, GA, and is coached by Shermon Pass and Jonathan Page.
Next up Gwinnett County 4-H will compete against Jackson County 4-H from Jefferson, GA. Jackson County 4-H currently has a 3 - 2 record. Hall County 4-H will compete against Bend of the River from Cookeville, TN. Bend of the River currently has a 1 - 4 record.
These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
