Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club defeats Norview NJROTC
Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club defeated Norview NJROTC 1103.6 to 1052.8 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club was led by Samantha Erick who shot a 282.2. The remaining contributing members were Samantha Seagle, Noah Richter, and Grace Richter. They are from Manassas, VA, and are coached by Alan Lerch.
Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club is competing in the Champions Division where they finish the regular season in thirteenth place. Within the Junior Rifle Club Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.
The cut scores for next season are still unofficial, however thanks to their performance this season Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club preliminarily qualifies for the Champions Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season. To complete their qualification, they must still shoot a 1035 or higher in a sanctioned competition within the next year.
Norview NJROTC was led by NiChawn Paige who shot a 266.6. The remaining contributing members were Reginald Ford, Preston Everette, and Ryan Rydl. Norview NJROTC is from Norfolk, VA, and is coached by LCDR Stuart Littlejohn.
Norview NJROTC is also competing in the Champions Division where they finish the regular season in seventeenth place. They finished the regular season with a 2 - 5 record.

Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
